Hellhound
Hellhound |
---|
The Hellhound is a servant to Hell and is prominent in many different mythologies including Greek and Christianity. It premiered in episode 2, Hellhounds a.k.a. Free Toast
Description
The Hellhound is a dog, but also a bit supernatural; there isn't terribly much more to it then that. They are associated with death, hell, funhouses, and primarily heck. They usually act as a guard dog under the control of a master. In Catalan, where they're called Dip, they are seen as an emissary of the devil, and they suck people's blood. These dips are way off anyone else's descriptions.
All hellhounds have red glowing eyes, they smell of Axe Brimstone (the deodorant). Some depictions of the hellhound can have multiple heads.
They love the show The Big Bang Theory, and hate the Sherlock episode, The Hounds of Baskerville.
Abilities
The Hellhound is very powerful in strength and speed. "Mastery" of fire, which basically means they have flaming claws, which leave scorch marks wherever they walk. This ability makes it "tough" to track, and is rather useful because you can have a hellhound step on some bread to make it toast for free. They can vary from the size of a wolf to that of a horse.
Gordon Ramsey reviewed toast made by the foot of a hellhound by saying:
"What the fuck is this? You call this toast? I've made better toast sticking bread up my ass."
Famous Hellhounds
Here is a list of famous hellhounds in history, fiction, or historical fiction:
- Cerberus - Guard dog for Hades
- Dog - Good Omens, Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
- The hellhound from the MTV series Teen Wolf - Most famous of all hellhounds
Tale
The tale speaks of the hellhound, describing it and its association with hell and death. It warns to shut your eyes if they hear a dog barking just in case it's a hellhound, because if you see one, it warns of your death being near. Seeing it three times indicates that you're pretty much dead right there. This hellhound was said to have been brought by Odin to northern England.
Black Shuck, rampaged small churches, killing people. He appeared in Bungay and bit the necks of two people, who promptly dropped dead. He next found his way to Blythburgh, targeting religious worshipers of a local church, killing a man and a boy, causing the steeple to collapse. He left his call sign on the front door, a burning paw print.
