Griffin
10th Century B.C. cave painting of a Griffin that was purchased by his wife.

King of beasts meets king of birds in this mashup, the Griffin. This lion/eagle hybrid premiered in episode 17, Griffin a.k.a. Eatin' Ain't Cheatin'

Description

The griffin is a legendary creature with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, and the head and wings of an eagle. Its front feet have the talons of an eagle as well. Because the lion was traditionally considered the king of the beasts and the eagle king of the birds, the griffin was thought to be an especially powerful and majestic creature, basically king of all creatures. Griffins are known for guarding treasure and priceless possessions, just like most other combo creatures, it was invented to protect human possessions.

The griffin originates from Mongolia, specifically the Silk Road, however depictions of it can also be traced back to ancient Egypt, Iran, and Sea World, all with a slight twist on it, but generally they all point to the Lion/Eagle combo breaker. They are commonly seen on coats of arms, flags, etc. because they're look cool as heck.

Griffins mate for life. There's no cheating, there's no just this once, there's no breaking up. They stick it out together. Eatin' ain't cheatin' though. They don't even find another mate if theirs dies.

Fun Fact: The wings you get at Buffalo Wild Wings are thought by some to be made from griffin meat. Usually only in the case of when they have their "Griffin Wings Wednesdays" though.

Funner Fact: Donald Trump has personally killed and eaten 3 Griffins on his own. He's the best griffin hunter in the USA.

Funnest Fact: They shit gold nuggets. They also eat gold nuggets. It's a cyclical diet. Sometimes they eat giraffes and elephants though.

Abilities

Griffins are eight times stronger than an eagle, and eight times stronger than a lion. (Edit by Adam: This really doesn't make sense because a lion is stronger than an eagle by a good amount, so it can't really be eight times strong than both, it'd be like eight times stronger than a lion and twelve times stronger than an eagle or something like that. But I digress.) It easily has the power to annihilate a human. They have healing properties in their feathers and eggs, but they only heal others, not themselves.

They are weak to pure metals, which cause burning to their body. Their beak is fairly weak, and easily breakable with a strong attack.

Tale

Daybreak..... Light shines upon 3000 BC Africa, the entire continent. Camera zooms to a quiet forest, birds rustle in the trees. Camera zooms past the trees, a lion comes into view. The lion's name.....Mufasa, star of the 1994 hit, "The Lion King." Mufasa, hurting real bad cuz Scar stole his lady in an unprecedented move. Scar is flaunting his relationship to Mufasa, so he's super pissed.

Mufasa is sad, then out of nowhere an eagle lands in front of him. This eagle was lookin' goooooood. They hit it off, they get it on. Text flashes on the screen, "3 years later," the first griffin murders Scar. Fin. Credits roll. Post credits, BWW logo shows as product placement scene, Tony Stark and Captain America eating griffin wings.
